Role Overview

The Assistant Store Manager plans, controls and directs the store team to achieve strong customer service and in-store execution. The role drives profitable sales, analyses performance, controls store costs, manages inventory and operational standards and develops team capability.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Drive, monitor and review store sales performance and recommend action plans to achieve sales budgets.
• Review category sales performance and communicate improvement actions to selling teams.
• Execute exclusive-product programmes and provide feedback on promotional effectiveness.
• Manage approved store OPEX budgets and optimise controllable expenses.
• Control shrinkage through retail-operating-standards compliance.
• Maintain displays, replenishment, inventory adjustments and cycle counts.
• Apply brand-service standards, handle customer queries and complaints and support loyalty programmes.
• Promote selling techniques, conversion and transaction-rate improvement.
• Ensure policies, brand standards, grooming rules and internal controls are implemented.
• Monitor expenses, loss prevention, asset protection, risk management and inventory control.
• Coordinate store documentation, daily reporting, cashier duties and planogram compliance.
• Plan team development, learning interventions, performance reviews and employee-engagement actions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's or master's degree is preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in retail and team management.
• Good knowledge of the fashion/beauty industry and trends.
• Proven retail operational skills covering stock, visual merchandising, systems and cash handling.
